Software Freedom Day 2009 - Orvieto 
A day dedicated to "Freedom Software" organized by OrvietoLUG, Foundation Studies Centre "City of Orvieto" and BackTrack Italy. The association of social promotion OrvietoLUG (Linux User Group), who has been in Orvieto is promoting the dissemination and knowledge of Linux and Open Source Software in general, this year joins the world day dedicated to Freedom Software.
The initiative will take place Saturday, September 19 in a dozen Italian places: Cagliari, Palermo, Enna, Perugia, Cosenza (two events), Lecce, Vicenza, Schio (VI) and Orvieto. Similar action will take place simultaneously in many other cities in the world.
The local event will take place at the Centro Studi Città di Orvieto "(CSCO), where the guys from the LUG, right from 9.30 in the morning, and distribute information materials will be available to all participants to illustrate the wide world of free software.
Within the initiative, in the afternoon, CSCO OrvietoLUG and will host the second meeting of the Italian community of BackTrack Linux distribution dedicated to all those who work to ensure the security of systems and networks, let us know. This initiative stems from event ever held in July in Orvieto, called "Crack the Treasury, which took place in the first national meeting of BackTrack attended by some of the leading experts in global security.
The significance of this event can be seen by the motto "Software Freedom, underpinning your human rights" which literally means "freedom of software, in support of your human rights."
